Modern family farm
Professional and experienced
Invested in machinery and storage
Aware of the future

W. B. Daw and Son is run and managed by James and Mavis Daw, their son Sam and daughter Elly. Alongside them is their skilled and hardworking team who are responsible for maintaining the business’s high standards in everything we do.

We have been farming in the area for 60 years and have built up a significant land base incorporating a range of soil types and land uses from permanent pasture and woodland to vegetable grade soils. Alongside our own land we are farming on behalf of a number of landlords in a range of agreements from short term annual potato rents and contract farming through to long term whole farm tenancies. This experience allows us to maintain our professional farming standards to both new and existing landlords. We are always seeking new opportunities to grow, find out more here.

We have always invested for the long term with modern machinery, harnessing the latest technology available and a focus on crop storage. This allows us to not only produce high quality crops efficiently but also supply produce to our customers all year round with potatoes and grain stored from August until July.  We have over 10,000ton of grain storage and drying capacity, alongside 7,500ton of climate controlled, refrigerated potato storage.

As a business we have always been prepared for what the future holds. We are actively using solar power and renewable heat on our crop storage sites and we have had a long-term involvement in stewardship schemes across the farm. Our main focus is to integrate all of the sustainable practices we use into a business focused upon commercial food production. Achieving the balance between production and preservation is our target for all the land we farm.
